How do shared transfers work?
SnowBus’s transfer schedule has been designed around all incoming and outgoing flights at Chambery airport. By collecting passengers from the same, or similar timed flights as your own, we can keep the costs as low as possible for everyone.
Can I book a seat right up to the last minute?
Due to the way in which SnowBus operates we ideally need bookings to be made at least a week in advance of traveling. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee to accommodate any bookings made less than 7 days from the date of departure. In these circumstances it would be best to contact us and check availability before booking.
Where do you pick-up and drop-off passengers?
A SnowBus rep will be at the front entrance of both airports at the allotted departure times to meet you. In resort we make several stops around both Tignes and Val d’Isere in order to get you as close as possible to your hotel. For more detailed information please see our Travel Information page.
Do you drop-off/pick-up in other locations?
Within the villages of Tignes and Val d'Isere we only stop at the designated bus stops. These have been specifically chosen to be in a central location, as well as easy to locate.
En-route to our resorts there are additional opportunities to stop at convenient locations such as Bourg St Maurice (for Les Arcs) and the main road near to Sainte Foy. Please contact us about these, and other, possibilities.
Why do you only take bookings over the internet?
SnowBus's policy is to take all bookings and payments through our website. This allows us to deliver the best and most cost effective transfer service to you. It means we won't be waiting around for extra people, and that we can save time by going exactly where and when we need to. Places on our transfers can be limited though so be sure to book up in plenty of time.
What if my flight, or one of my flights is not listed catered for by your transfer service?
SnowBus aim to link up with as many flights coming in and out of both Chambery airport as possible. However, the different airlines, journey times, and driver responsibilities make it impossible to meet absolutely every flight across the two airports. The flights listed on our booking page, and their respective buses, are those which our schedule has been designed around. Please check both legs of your journey as in some cases SnowBus may meet one of your transfers but not the other. In these instances we would encourage you to book the appropriate single journey with SnowBus, and look at our Private Hire page for rates on the other leg.
Can I still book with SnowBus even if my flight isn't listed?
There may be a situation where the low cost of our transfers means you are happy to either rush or wait longer at the airport for a flight we don't normally deal with. We would normally recommend you arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight. However, if you have looked at the timetable on our Travel Information page and are still willing to book with us then we will be happy to transport you. Simply select the 'unlisted flight' option in the appropriate place, and then choose the right bus for you. If you also put your actual flight details in the additional comments box then this will also help us. We can accept no liability or responsibility for missed flights in these situations.
What is your luggage policy?
All our buses are equipped to take a reasonable level of luggage from each passenger. SnowBus.co.uk consider one suitcase/holdall + one board or ski bag as reasonable luggage. If you are planning to bring more than this please inform us when you book and we will do everything we can to accommodate it.
Will we have to wait long at the airport?
SnowBus.co.uk endeavour to pick up and drop off passengers at Chambery Airport with the minimum amount of waiting time. We tailor our transfers around the flights which arrive and leave each week. However, we do have to combine flights occasionally and this may lead to some passengers having a short wait. Please see our weekend timetable on the Travel Information page for more details.
Do we need to book a place for small children too?
Under French law, each passenger traveling with us must be allocated a seatbelt. Therefore you will need to book a place for all members of your group who will be traveling with us, no matter what their age.
What if I miss my bus?
SnowBus do everything possible to make sure that all passengers are aboard every transfer journey. However, unfortunately we cannot delay other passengers if you are late or your plane is delayed excessively. If you do miss your scheduled bus we will do everything we can to get you on the next SnowBus, or help you make alternative travel arrangements. It will be the passenger’s responsibility to get in touch with their SnowBus representative if you do need to discuss anything in these situations.
Do your drivers speak English?
We use local French drivers who have extensive experience with the mountain roads and conditions. However, each coach has an English-speaking SnowBus.co.uk representative on board who will be able to help you with everything you require.
