Airport to Resort Swap

FAQ

How do shared transfers work?

Shared, or scheduled, transfer buses leave the airport and resorts at regular intervals. Shared transfers run from Geneva and Grenoble airport in conjunction with our partners Simply Transfers, and are one of the cheapest ways of travelling as you only pay the cost of the seat you personally take. There will most likely be stops along the route to collect other passengers, and buses collect and drop-off from one location within each resort.

How do private transfers work?

For larger groups of people, private transfers are a more convenient method of travel. Parties can book the whole vehicle to collect them directly from their flight and take them straight to the hotel - and vice-versa. Private transfers are only for your group and operate for a set cost in much the same way as a taxi would.

Why should I use your service?

Snowbus have set up some great partnerships with local companies around France in order to provide great airport to ski resort transfers for any size group. We are one of the few companies to offer both shared and private transfers which means we can always find a travel option for you. Our local partners know the areas well and use modern, comfortable vehicles and our office staff are always available to help.

Do shared transfers make stops on the way to resort?

All our transfers will get you to resort as quickly and comfortably as possible. There will usually be some brief stops along the route to collect or drop-off passengers from other resorts - and this is how we are able to keep our prices down so low. Everything is done to ensure this doesn't disrupt the journey for other passengers though.

Can I book a seat right up to the last minute?

Due to the unique way in which Snowbus operates we do require all online tickets to be bought at least 72 hours in advance of your travel date. For any last minute bookings, customers can contact us directly to check availability.

Where do you pick-up and drop-off passengers?

Shared transfers stop in a convenient location in every resort we work in. Snowbus stops can be viewed as resort maps & Google maps on the relevant Resorts page, and all resort locations and airport meeting point details are also emailed to passengers at the time of booking.

All private transfers operate as a door-to-door service and drivers will be waiting when you land at the airport to take you straight to your hotel or chalet.

What vehicles do you use?

Our partners use a range of high quality people-carriers, minibuses and coaches for transfers. With a range of 6 - 60 seat vehicles we employ the size of vehicle required for each specific journey.

Will shared transfers pick me up from my hotel?

Shared transfers can only pick-up and drop-off in the designated Snowbus stops. These have been specifically chosen to be as convenient as possible for all passengers. We have made special arrangements to collect UCPA guests direct from their hotel on Saturdays only.

Private transfers are a door-to-door service and will meet you outside your hotel or chalet at the designated collection time.

How much time should I leave between my flight and my shared transfer pick-up/drop-off?

We recommend our passengers to leave at least 1 hour from their flight arrival time to the bus departure time. For outbound flights we recommend allowing 2 hours check-in time at the airport. Customers can select their own bus times and we cannot be held responsible for any missed buses or flights. Unforseen delays can happen in the mountains, so we always recommend passengers leave as much time as possible on their journeys.

What is your luggage policy?

All our buses are equipped to take a reasonable level of luggage from each passenger. Snowbus consider one suitcase/holdall + one ski or board bag per person as reasonable luggage. If you are planning to bring any additional equipment such as buggies or prams, please inform us when you book your journey.

Do we need to book a place for small children too?

For private transfers - in accordance with French law, each passenger within a vehicle must be allocated a seatbelt. We can take children, and can provide baby seats & child seats, but we need to class all children as a passenger, no matter their age.

For shared transfers - unfortunately, it is not possible to take children under the age of 4 years old. This is due to the fact that it is not always an option to use child seats in coaches and larger vehicles. Shared transfer journeys can also be longer, and we cannot guarantee bathroom stops if needed.

What if I miss my shared transfer bus?

We do everything possible to make sure all passengers are aboard every transfer journey. If you do miss your scheduled bus we will get you on to the next Snowbus transfer with available seats.

Do I need to confirm my return journey?

It is not necessary to re-confirm a booking by email or phone.  However, if you are not taking your journey then please tell us in order to avoid any delays for other passengers.
